OUR PHILOSOPHY
At the Children’s Studio, we believe that creativity is an essential component of a child’s growth and development. Mixing elements of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Pedagogy of Play, our classes balance practical skill-building and technique with creative expression and self-reflection. At CSP, students will be welcomed into a creative community of young artists, nurtured and loved, and provided with their own studio to explore techniques among a wide array of media.
ABOUT Rebecca
Rebecca Deutsch Caine is an artist and educator in Oakland, California. She has an M.Ed from Harvard University in arts education and a BA from Oberlin College, where she studied Art and Theater.
She has taught art in the Bay Area for 10 years at schools such as The Berkeley School, Montessori Family School, and Black Pine Circle School. In 2017, Rebecca was a Fulbright scholar and taught at schools in Athens, Greece. Rebecca started the Children’s Studio Project in 2023.
